I'm so ashamed but I have a confession to make (and not in a jokey, good way) - I am disgusted with myself to the point that I had been thinking of disappearing and assuming a new user name (I wouldn't be able to stay away) but I knew having met me FF would wonder where I had got to.
Not excusing you in any way at all, but you know that what you have done is ridiculous. So, what to be done?
Cut up all the cards. All of them. Not even one for emergencies shall remain.
If you need groceries then buy them with cash or use your debit card. I think cash is best to be honest. You don't see anything bought with a card as real money.
EBAY! It's free listing today, so get cracking. You could have 20 things listed by tonight if you get a wriggle on. To be fair, I've listed bog all today as I'm having a CBA day, but I'm putting stuff in a box for the next free listing day and will be writing descriptions etc for them over the coming weeks so that it's an easy copy and paste job when it comes around.
Agree with Moo when it comes to eating all the frozen food. Maybe give us a list of what's in it and we can help you menu plan?
It's understandable that you feel like sh*t today having realised the mistake you've made, but maybe this could be your true lightbulb moment?? I suspect you've been a dimly flickering bulb for a while...0 -
Thanks guys, knew I could rely on you to be sensible. Am still shocked to the core.
Will definitely do some e-baying. I haven't used the Marc Jacobs Lola perfume which cost me "£24 in the sales, so I think I can definitely get that back if I list it
I'll also have a go at selling some clothes that no longer fit me, although a recycling shop has opened up which offers £3 cash per 10kg of fabric so I might investigate that although I suspect 10kg of fabric is rather a lot...Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -

Wonder if I have one of those shops near me....I have a load of linens I don't use and suspect theres 10kg of sheets hiding in a box under my bed0 -
Step 1. Have just redeemed £23 of paypal vouchers from the MySurvey website.
Although am a bit confuddled as I thought I just had enough to redeeem a £15 voucher last time I checked so not sure where the other £8 worth of points has come from.Start Date: 27/11/2010

Also, boring as @rse, but you can normally redeem £5 in Amazon vouchers every week or two from Bingoport if you're not on there already.
I can send you a link if you like?0 -

Could ya just take the perfume back to the shop?????
10kg of fabric really isn't a lot. Bet you could find 20kg without too much difficulty. How much outgrown stuff does DS2 have lurking in drawers?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Can't take the perfume back as I have lost the receipt. Also, as it was half price from Boots, it's actually going on e-bay for more than I paid for it (Marc Jacobs, Lola)
Moo, you wouldn't believe how many black bin liners and suitcases of old clothes I have lying around. I need to go to the shop first and see what they take (example, odd socks, old curtains used as dust sheets) and then just take the stuff up and drop it off.
Had a breakthrough today, took three of the four items I bought on Saturday back to Peacocks for a refund so that's £44 back onto my Tesco CC.
I left the purse with the cards in it at home today (not that I had intended on going anywhere spendy, but it is the principle of the thing) and just took my coins purse with me.Start Date: 27/11/2010

Well done on the returns
I sometimes think with clothes that I could Ebay them but it's better to declutter and get them out of the house so more often than not they go to the charity shop.0
