I drive 15000 miles a year and only go up to 80mph for 2-5 miles a day in good conditions. Generally it's 60-70mph, but in the snow it's been 20-30mph.0 -

Nankangs don't look bad though.

Yes those are the ones I'm leaning towards. I just want to be certain I'm ordering the right tyres for my car as it will be an expensive mistake seeing as they would be coming from Germany.0

Well, lots of snow here in the Welsh valleys, and I'm now sitting here all smug as I was able to make it to my hospital appointment this morning without issue, didn't even have to use the chains.
On the trip back I avoided the queue by driving down the unploughed lane. Tried the brakes and could stop just fine.
Only problem I had was on the way there. Had to pull over to let some knob in an X5 overtake as he was driving right up my chuff on low profile tyres of some sort. Didn't fancy braking with him behind me. Oh and by the time I got out of the hospital there was that much snow on the car that it looked like it had been parked up overnight and I had to clear it by hand.
Obviously you still have to be sensible, but definitely one of my better purchases I think.0
