The subscription fee has actually saved me money...
i used to buy at least 1 game a month but have only brought about 2 in the last 12 months0 -
Don't buy it, you'll waste your life away!!!0

I bought the trial version about 3 weeks ago, after 10 days i was so hooked i bought the real game of HMV.co.uk £9.99. It is like a drug, im trying to do homework now, but its taking all my willpower not to play it.
But it is just about the best game ever, oh yeh, and the first month is free.
( and i tried guildwars, it was ok, but it doesnt compare at all! )0 -
Just to echo what many are saying here, this game and its' ilk really are time sinks. MMORPG's consume a massive amount of your time to progress within the game, and if you don't progress, you can't experience the game properly.
If you buy this for your OH or one of your kids, expect them to have difficulties making time to do homework. Going out will become a thing of the past, theyll spend all their free time playing this game.
My suggestion is to set restrictions early on, limit the amount of time they can play each day, insist they spend some free time outside or doing other things and of course homework must not suffer! Maybe then they wont become fat spotty oiks whose life revolves round an online game.
Maybe..."The reasonable man adapts to the world,
The unreasonable man adapts the world to himself,
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."0 -
My son loves this, but he has also made a lot of new friends in different countries with it, he doesn't waste al his time on it.
Amazon have the expansion for pre-order down from £29.99 to £17.990 -
Expansion not out until Jan earliest now.... so you technically it could be a good Christmas pressie. Just remember you really need broadband to play it.0

A friend is about to fail his degree due to this game. Don't buy it. It will ruin your life.0

A warning. I used to earn £60,000 per year in an executive role. I bought WoW 7 months ago and now I'm on the dole. I used to eat good meals with my wife, now I eat pizza from the cheap shop on my own and she has left me. I lived on the streets for a month because my rent went on the game..0
