I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to what I should do next:
I have been in email contact with e-bay since 12th September when my listing for a new copy of Kidulthood was removed. E-Bay just keep saying the same things ie we've contacted Revolver, we encourage them to contact you, we can't make them, if you haven't heard in 3 business days then get back to us. When I do then they start the same cycle of mails again.
I have e-mailed Revolver many times but received no reply (they hold the copyright).
There are other copies of the same DVD for sale, and always have been.
I am not a commercial seller, this was one item that I've never played and obtained honestly (as a prize).
I don't know what to do next.

Try Amazon?My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
But surely I need to find out what was wrong with my original listing on e-Bay, or the same thing could happen again in which case e-Bay have already warned me that my account will be suspended?0

Either:
a. there is an over-zealous VERO who has it in for you
or
b. Your listing makes the item look fake
If it's b, make the item look genuine. If it's not b, it must be a, so you'd be crazy to risk your account by listing again.
The other option is to contact the VERO direct but you may never get a reply. My TV is broken!

It's not that I necessarily want to list the same item again, it's that as I don't know what the problem is I'm worried about listing anything else.
As I said, I have contacted Revolver many times but received no reply, and E-Bay even more often, but received no help (or even an indication that they actually read my mails).0 -
Normally VEROs get involved when:
- You are selling a counterfeit item (or appear to be)
- They consider that you don't have the resale rights for the item listed (this is more likely with designer items)
I assume we're talking about a DVD here...? If it's not fake I can't see any problem with listing it, which is why I think you've attracted the attention of a rogue VERO. Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do about that aside from complaining to ebay (which won't get you anywhere).
The good thing is that a VERO only has a say for a specific brand, so if all your other items are completely different, you shouldn't run into the same problem (as long as everything is genuine)My TV is broken!

Well, that is a bit of a comfort, although if Revolver is a rogue, I'm still at a bit of a loss as to what I've done to upset them with my one DVD when others are still selling!
It's definitely not a fake DVD, and I can't see that it would have looked like one as I used the e-Bay method of putting in the barcode as well as putting in some comments, reviews etc.
I'm still feeling a bit picked on (and furious at the E-Bay people who are obviously just trying to bore me into submission with their cut and paste skills) but it is a comfort to think that it seems likely that this is a one off.0 -
Who are Revolver anyway?
They don't by any chance own the copyright to the reviews, do they?

Revolver (or Revolver Entertainment) have their name and logo on the back of the DVD, and are the people that e-Bay told me to contact them with my questions regarding why they had my listing removed.
However, they never rply, or even acknowledge that they have received my mails.
The reviews came from several sources, all acknowledged0 -
We are back in the grey area again where only licensed sellers should be able to sell certain products. Disney and certain other DVD producers guard the right to their sales jealously and even if a copy is legit it doesn't mean a seller has the right to sell it , unless of coruse they can prove the have the license from the original producer to do so.
What usually happens is that a rival will report listings to VERO, and then for a few weeks th epeople owning the rights to sell will just pull everything that contravenes their rights, and then they'll get bored and move on to something different again.

Now I'm worried again!
The first thing that happened to me when I bought on E-Bay ws that I bid for a boxed set of DVDs and got sent home made copies. I complained and had my money refunded, and then had to go through a process to get vitriolic and abusive comments made by the seller about me removed.
I was always worried that it was this seller who had done something, but e-Bay said that the request came from the VeRO.
Now you seem to suggest that the VeRo will act on the say so of anyone who contacts them, which is very worrying.0
