    Hi bootman,

    Sorry,only just checked thread back..

We did lots of searching around (online and in shops) and found the cheapest price to be £309 with free delivery at https://www.fires-cookers.co.uk

Im not associated with this company atall, I just recomend them as the service we got was fantastic.

On the site, look at the menu to the left of the screen..the washing machines are under 'laundry'

Another vote for Bosch - brilliant cleaning, last for years. My old one (now with SIL) is over 9 years old. Still a few years to go before it beats my old Hitachi at 14 years, though.
  • Have just bought a Bosch (last week!) - cheapest model they do at £279 from a local supplier who took away the old one for £6 and it was free delivery. Looking at the above posts I'm glad I did. Plus you get a two year warranty rather than the standard one year. My last two machines were AEG - wouldn't go for them again.

Having just had my Zanussi repaired YET again, I would definately NOT touch Zanussi, they used to good until Electrolux took them over, now pile of pants.

Anyway, I was saying to the repair chap what he thought of were the best and less troublesome machines and his opinion was Miele.

So that is what we will looking for...I assume this flippen Zanussi will not be long before it breaks down AGAIN!!

This may not be accurate, but I have been told (by two separate sources) that the BSH group (Siemens/Bosch/Neff) have had problems with their manufacturing plant for washing machines and that there will, therefore, be a shortage of these brands shortly..
