Which washing machine do I buy??

My washing machine that is 6 years old had just fused and tripped out the electric!!!
Its been leaking water from under the control pannel for a while so I guess its water mixing with electric.
I do not want to bother with repairs, I will buy a new one. My last 2 have been hotpoint and to be honest both only lasted 5 years, wash never been that good.
So my question is what do you have and do you rate it. I am not looking for the cheapest I just want a good machine that will wash well and perhaps last a bit longer than 5 years.
Thanks

Hi,
We got our new washing machine about 6 weeks ago..very pleased with it, it has a huge drum (7.5kg) washes fantastic even at a 30 deg wash and is super silent! Oh and it looks fab too!
Helen xlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -
Helen many thanks - Who did you find the cheapest for it?
My mind is all a boggle. So many websties to look at and so many different machines to choose from!0 -
Someone told me you can buy them on the Boots website (it seems to be down at the moment so I can't check). Just think of all those lovely points.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

my suggestion would be any machine made by BOSCH they are always near the top in reliability surveys and are not overpriced like some other german manufacturers.I and my family have had good service from my bosch appliances and would recommend them0

hi, I've had a Bosch for about 10 years and it hasn't died on me yet. Recently brought a new tumble dryer (Bosch again) and this is how found cheapest....
- checked Bosch website to work out which model I needed.http://www.boschappliances.co.uk/products-wm.aspx
- logged in Quidco, did a kelkoo search for prices. didn't go with cheapest option as it had poor customer reviews, next best was Sainsbury Kitchen applicances online (didn't know it existed before!).
- Logged onto SKA through quidco, brought tumble dryer and got nectar points (and cash back has come through as well)
Really pleased with service I got, they phoned & texted to confirm delivery etc. They also took away my old dryer....at a cost, but most places seem to charge & they were similar to cost to others and it meant less agro for me.0 -
I bought a Bosch earlier this year. 1400 spin. Really pleased with it. Only point i would make is that it doesn't like washing tablets very much. Powder or liquid works fine in it though.
Our last one was a Hotpoint and it lasted 10 years. But apparently they have now been taken over by another company and thats the reason why the newer ones don't last as long.
Hope this helps. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile

If you can reach the budget go for Miele they are the best and they last forever, my father in laws Miele has just been replaced it was 17 years old.
Heres some Price Runner Searches for you

If not try Zanussia or Bosch they are good options"Don't panic just chill out and smile"

Going by previous Which? reports they aren't anything like as reliable as Bosch / Miele, hence the downgrading.adr0ck wrote:current which? best buys
