We are having major electricity usage problems with our Altherma Daikin split air source heat pump - engineers have checked the system and it 'appears to be running correctly' BUT THEY ARE NOT.
I have managed to find someone else on another website/forum having the same problems - Anyone else out there with a story??
Many thanks.

One of the problems I've found with ashp's is that it's the engineers that get it slightly wrong and not the heat pump. Is your heat pump a retro fit to an existing system or is it Fitted to a brand new home?0

I've not had any experience with the altherma as yet but it sounds like it could be that instead of using an input trigger, theyve used an output, this may seem a bit double Dutch but if it is then the pump will be calling for heat constantly, that's where the electric is being used.
The main problem with heat pumps is getting the control system right, the pumps in the uk are fantastic, the problem is human error.0
