    A friend of mine was in a similar position and had handed in her notice just like you. She then raised a grievance which she sent throgh head office. I think they knew she had a valid claim as she was re-instated and given the hours she had asked for on many occaisions over several years. As far as I know there were no solicitors involved at any stage but she may have had union backing.

    Is it not possible to speak to somone in Personnel at head office? If your store has the worse sickness record is it the managers fault being unreasonable about hours etc?
    Is this a form of harrassment? (to get you to leave). She wouldn't change your hours but gave them to all new staff. Would the staff member she spoke to about not swopping hours be a witness for you.

    An awful lot of the staff who have been off sick have been off with stress and/or depression and most of them said that the manager contributed to it.

    I do think it may be a form of harrassment. The manager, for reasons unknown to me, does not like me and I think she is glad to see me go.

    The staff member she spoke to is now at Uni quite a distance away but she probably would put something in writing for me.
