I recently had problems with my laptop which turned out to be the harddrive. I replaced the hard drive and reloaded windows etc and now the laptop is working fine but I cant get connected to the internet. I spoke to my broadband provider but they said there is nothing they can do to help. The internet is working for my other laptop and computer so it must be something to do with replacing the harddrive? any ideas? thanks

Did you install all of the necessary device drivers? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Make, model of laptop? Device drivers interface between the hardware and the operating system. How are you trying to connect? Ethernet/wireless? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

is it wired or wireless connection you should check your device manager to see if there are any problems
you can do that by going into control panel/system/device manager0 -
do yo uhave a ethernet cable, i would suggest hooking it up directly to your router and then run windows update - they have quite a few drivers on there.
the other one is have you set the network key up correctly? and set your router up properly, sometimes i have foudn to get a initial connectoin you need to switch your router up to broadcast its SSID then you can find it connect to it and then you can switch the broadcasting offDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Hiya, it is a wireless connection. The laptop is a Medion laptop (about 2 years old).0

You should be able to download the drivers required from here. e.g. the driver for your 802.11 wireless device. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
