  • MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

You're on the right board now, hector, so hopefully you'll get some good advice. How long ago did you order these boots? Your credit card company has said that a payment has been taken but have you received the goods? The worst case scenario is that money is taken, you don't get the boots and you can't get a refund. If this is the case, you can ask your credit card to refund you, although usually this is only for goods over £100 (I'm guessing your boots were less).

However, you might still get the boots. Bear in mind that these will probably be fakes. Do you want fake Uggs? If you don't, you're going to have to return them and hope for a refund. This might not be straightforward.

Post back with some more info and we'll take it from there.

  • thank you fluffnutter for responding....
i purchased the boots yesterday and the website crashed and asked me to put my details in again, which i did. Then a few minutes later i started to get the "thanks for ordering" emails and then i got two orders saying thank you for your purchase. i checked my account on the website and it said that i had purchased two of these.
Obviously then i panicked and tried to call them to say dont take two payments from my card and would you believe it the UK London telephone number on the website just goes dead!!! then alarm bells started to ring...i called my credit card company last night and they said they could see a payment of £53 on my account and to call back today. i have called them back today and they are still saying that one payment is showing on the account.
would a second payment be showing by now?
i had an email from the person in wherever they are!!!!!!! saying that they had received two payments and i told them not to take two payments, whether they understood this is another story, it was all in broken english!!!!
i sent several emails telling them not to take the money.....i havent heard anything from them today but if its a scam then i wont, but then wherever they are has probably got a time difference!!!!!
i have no doubt now that they are fake and i should have realised but that doesnt bother me too much at the moment, i am more concerned about my money being taken!!!!
Sorry to go on......have you heard of that website or read anywhere of their scams before?
    Thanks for your help.

There are many, many fake Ugg sellers around unfortunately. They're mostly based in China. Some might supply (fake) Uggs, some might just take your money. I'm not sure you can do much else at the moment other than to wait and see if your boots turn up. If they do, and you like them, and only one payment is taken, then your position is not too bad; you've ended up with some boots you like (albeit fake ones). If you don't like them and you return them, then you need to wait to see if they refund you. Similarly, you also need to wait to see if they take any further payments.

I don't think there's much your credit card company will (or can) do yet, other than perhaps try to block any further payments. Have you asked them to do this?

  • i havent asked them to stop anything, i called them and let them know the situation and they said to wait a few days and see if anything that shouldnt comes off the card and if it does then to download the compensation form!!!!!
  • i havent heard a thing from the seller so i can only presume that it was or is a scam.

TBH, hector, I'm not sure that you can do much else at the moment. Wait and see what happens, then talk to your credit card company. They might take pity on you and refund you the £53. Hopefully only one payment will be taken. You could cancel your card I suppose.

Worth checking this out, hector. If this experience hasn't completely put you off Uggs for life! Let's hope you either get your money back or, at the least, a pair of boots you like. Good luck.
