east leeds is pretty big now and covers a wide area. i'm from Garforth, though i don't live there anymore - it was a good place to grow up - lots of amenities, great schools.Has its fair share of chavs, but its a very commutable place. Closer to town is Crossgates - not too bad has a train station. There are nastier bits to east leeds, but its subjective...0

I know to avoid Harehills/Chapeltown, and possibly Seacroft, but I don't know much about the other areas. Garforth is pretty far out, isn't it?poppy100

I've also heard about the areas immediately outside the city centre in Leeds changing to LS1 postcodes - a lot of people believe that house prices will rocket in these areas.
Does the postcode really make a difference?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
