3 sim,factory reset, in 5140,will it work on 2g?

I have a contract 3 sim, which I want to move from a 7600 to a nokia 5140.
I gather that I can get a factory reset so it will work on 2g, so I don't get connection problems, continuously
Am I likely to have any problems with this?
Should I just unlock the 5140 first and see how I get on with 3?

  • the 3 sim will not work in the 5140 and may break it due to some incompatiability with the 3 usim and normal sim cards. Resetting the 7600 and setting it to GSM only may fix your connection problems but will break the 3 terms and conditions.

the sim will not work in the 5140 as it does not support wcdma (3g) but the sim will not damage the phone.

It does not break the terms and conditions as the 7600 is yours, the 3 sim is the property of the network, if you reset the phone. It may invalidate the nokia warranty to unlock the phone, worse case there are loads of non Nokia repair shops who would repair this for about £10-£15 if the Nokia Service centre complained(though I have yet the hear of this !!)

    I've got a problem then
just bought the 5140, sold the 7600,
trying to get out of the Forward cellular sim only £30pcm contract.
    Have 500 x-net mins/month with 3g

    which phones do that?

think the new Nokia 7610 + 6630 do, the LG8102 flip phone is the best of those that you can get on 3.....or a cheap NEC616,313 or any of the NEC 3 connected payg ones !!

i meant using the 3 sim in a reset phone locked to o2 will break the t&c.
