Pull the card out and you will see exactly what channels you will receive. You don't have to buy a Freesat from Sky card, you only lose 3 channels from the EPG (Five, Fiver and Five USA).
If you currently have Sky+ you will lose the PVR functions on the box.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Still true, as well as Sky 3 + 1.0 -
If you leave the Sky Card in the slot, you won't lose any of the above channels after leaving Sky, as it simply acts as a Freesat from Sky Card when the subscription packages have been removed.
Sky cancelled in October 2009 and all of the above channels are still available by leaving the card in situ.0 -
They do change the card eventually but mine kept working for about 3 or 4 years. If you take card out BBC will revert to London and ITV to central. The other BBC channels are still on EPG but will not be on channel 101. You should be able to get your local ITV and channel 5 as additional channels.0
