JSA stopped after car breakdown

My friend went to jobcentre with me in my car but my car was breakdown, waiting for the RAC to arrive an hour and we had no number (to ring up jobcentre as they never put any phone number on the JSA signing on card) how great, we finally arrive jobcentre and show the RAC paperwork of proof of breakdown and the man at the jobcentre told my friend, NO EXCUSE to rac breakdown. Your JSA had to stopped because u are late!

Why they won't accept proof of RAC paperwork of breakdown ?

Why did your friend have to wait with you? Could you not have called directory enquiries (or whatever it is called now)? He will need to arrange a new sign on time, and may lose two weeks money.

  • They're looking for any excuse to stop peoples benefit.

They are creating a climate of fear in all job centres.

Also its saving the government a fortune.

If they can stop say 10 peoples benefit in every job centre, its a lot of money.

Was your friend already on a warning for this attendance?

Why were you on the motorway and where is the motorway in relation to the starting point and the jobcentre?

You cant just directly call a job centre now, you need to go through a switchboard first and you tell them which office you wish to go.

OP you must have been late on previous sign ons for them just to stop your JSA.

You can in some areas. Even if you have to go through to a switch, I can't see why that was not possible?
