Just wanted to second all the fab advice you've been given so far. It sounds like you really need to go back to the doctor ( or get a second opinion). Have you tried Mind? they may be able to put you in touch with councellors/support groups etc. Try and go out and do what you liked doing - even if you feel like you won't enjoy it- you need to go out still and you might surprise yourself. Be kind to yourself - you are not a failure - you only feel like that as you are going through this depression.
A good book I found useful was the Mind guide to managing you mind - a bit of a weighty tome but full of loads of useful info. Others also highly recommend Dorothy Rowe books.
You will get there. Good LuckMaking my money go further with MSE :j

skintchick wrote:Hi. Hugs. I know where you're coming from and it's horrible. CNa I suggest you have a look at https://www.livinglifetothefull.com and try the exercises on there.
I would agree with skintchick here. You can also get CBT on the NHS. CBT has made an indescribable difference to me. I've suffererd on and off with depression for the past 27years, each time getting worse. This time I have had 10 sessions with a mental health worker at my GP's surgery and I know that this time I can get better. (It's taken me since March to be able to say that, and I'm not saying when I'll be better, but I know that I am getting there)
Other things I that have helped me are St John's Wort (but not with any other SSRI) and Reiki.
Please go back to your GP and get some help - noone should have to feel the way you do.

As an interim, if you're in a position to, this book was recommended to me by my psychologist...http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/WEBSITE/WWW/WEBPAGES/showbook.php?id=04700183800

That sounds interesting. I myself always hold myself back, by my way of thinking.
I know this is off topic. Has anyone here Tried any Hynotherapy CDs to help with this0 -
lost-at-present, interesting ID thats what you are you are lost at present but not forever.Believe me you are young, I am over 50 and only just starting to deal with debt. (Yes I know that doesn't help you) but when you nag your GP to get their act together and get decent medical help then you change your seat on the train of life. You are sitting with your back to the engine and looking at where youv'e been, change seat and look at where you are going. Accept big hugs from everyone here, we all wish you well.Mutual Supporters club member (Nov 2006)
