...you can wait another couple of months and they'll all be gone.
It'll be a little over 4 months, being as the last search was made in March, during which time the OP could have incurred another 6% in interest (at circa 1.5% per month).

OP, what type of searches were they (ie credit card, current account, unrecorded, etc)? Please list the type by month.
  • Whatever you do, don't ask Equifax to let you know what's on your credit report and what isn't. I just had a 10mins argument with them over the phone as they told me that the alert they sent me to tell me my credit agreement with my back had been removed was correct, and the fact the bank said it hadn't been (and that I was using that card consistently over the last two months, including earlier today!) was incorrect.

Then they told me to discuss it further I had to buy a credit report, which they told me would tell me the same thing as the alert.

It's just a con - alerting you to incorrect changes on your report in order to get you to buy a report which is wrong (as both the bank and I pointed out).

Stay away from them if you want any accurate information.

Have no idea what that sentence means.

The criteria for cards can certainly vary at the lenders will - is that what you mean by "spread round".

yeah apologies for that stupid grammer like the rest of my writing, basically the big question is would you wait until march lisyloo for all the searches to fall off,or do you think i would have a just as much chance now with no searches in 8 months

Providing there are no financial associate 'issues' I'd throw an application in now.

...i wanted to apply for the egg card
Why? There are other long term BT cards available to you. And why now?...The Egg Card offers generally roll over at month end, so waiting until next Wednesday could bag you an extra month (no guarantees it will roll over this month though).

I wouldn't risk it myself...certainly not yet. Unless your circumstances have improved significantly since then, ie pay rise, much less debt, etc?
