Hi,
I've just moved into a house that has a very old integrated dishwasher, which is 57 cm width. I want to replace it (ideally with a normal one, not built in), but cannot find dishwashers with this size... anyone know if they do exist??
I also searched for integrated and I could only find a Candy one that was 57 cm width... (the current one is Bosch).
Thanks!!

This might sound like a daft question but is the gap 57cm or the dishwasher? I doubt you'd find one of that size regardless - though you could get a slimline one (45cm I believe).0

I think the gap is 59. I found the Candy one, so they do exist... but I find strange there are so rare?
45 cm wouldn't look very good with the space on the sides?0 -
i'm just guessing here, but your current built in one will be 57cm because it has to sit within a base unit which will be 1.5cm on each side, normally a stand alone one does not have a base unit to sit in therefore will be 60cm...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. That would be great, but I took the measurement yesterday and I'm pretty sure the gap was < 60 cm. I also measured the gap for the washing machine (stand alone) and this gap was 62 cm.... I will measure it today again just in case I got it wrong.
Thanks for your help.0 -
Although an integrated appliance is slightly narrower, the door on the front/appliance front is usually full width i.e. 60cm so if the space for the appliance isn't that big, check it isn't being narrowed by some frame on the inside?0

The current dishwasher does not have a door, what it has is a front panel which is the same wood as the rest of the kitchen, attached to the front... is that integrated or built-in?0

I get the feeling the previous owners didn't replace it as it seems so complicated to find one that fits!0

Are they close to each other, these 2 machines? If so, and your dishwasher space really is too small, can you not "borrow" some of the WM space, as it should fit into a 60cm space too.
Even if there is a cupboard or two between them, it may be possible to move the cupboards along very slightly by releasing the screws that go into the worktop and the wall.0 -
No, the appliances are in different places in the kitchen. I checked and it's not possible to move any cupboards. Forgot to take the measuring tape yesterday so couldn't double-check the gap!!
If the gap was exaclty 60cm.. could a 60 cm one fit? Or does it need to be more, like the WM that's 62?0 -
No, if the gap is 60 you will be fine, the dishwashers are usually 59.5 cm, or exactly 60cm.
Take a look on the Bosch website for examples of sizes.

If you download the brochure it gives all the sizes.0
