Buy a smaller oven dish, leave it on display at every available opportuinity commenting on how much more economical it is because you don't cook too much. Use the big oven dish.My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Yesterday I spent an hour and a half chopping onions in a food processor just to go in the freezer. Had red hands by the end (only use red onions).
Hi just wondering if you open freeze the onions or just bung them in a bag and break off a bit. I used to be very non OS and buy the bags from Tesco as I find if I buy them fresh, they end up going off as I hop on and off the OS bandwagon, depending how organised or how much energy I have!;)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Can you not explain to hubby what you are doing and then if he does it again go ballistic? I am single so might be missing something but that would seriously p1ss me off. lol my OH does this with my lasagne as well. i make it in a huge oven dish packed out with peppers, mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and mushrooms. he always goes for seconds. first night we have lasagne on it's own. we usually don't freeze the leftovers and just have it 2 days later with chips or salad and garlic bread. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090

Trust me it's hard to get really angry when he looks at me with huge puppy eyes and says "but hun it's only cos it's so nice!" *sigh* And I'm a vain cow really... I like the fact he enjoyes my food. Afterall he never goes back for seconds if it's not home made
Onions - or any other chopped veg that's frozen: I just bung it in a bag and freeze it, then a few days later or when I remember, I take the solig lump out and put a dish cloth around it and start bashing it with my meat tenderiser (i's a metal one but I guess a wooden one would work?) till everything has seperated outit's usually pretty easy

I do have exactly the same problem but when my OH asks for seconds I say he's finished it all. I think lying helps our relationship a lot.My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

The first time I did the freezing onion thing, I did open freeze them. But this time I just bunged them in a bag, every now and then taking them out and shaking them. When it comes to using them, I'll probably use my trusty rolling pin to break the pieces up.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
