HTC Desire and orange retentions offer
Hi, orange have offered me the HTC Desire for 27.50 a month - the same that is available on their website for new customers - apparently they are giving me a loyalty deal as for an upgrade they would charge me £99 for the phone?! So as an existing customer I get no loyalty apparently?! Does this sound right?
Bit annoyed really as I know people get better deals than that, but they just aren't budging...
So anyway, just wanted to make sure the desire is the one to go for. They have offered me the SE mini xperia (or something!) for less, but I want something that can go on the internet and is fast and a bloody good phone, would I be better sticking with the desire? Ideally I would want an iphone, so I am looking for that kind of thing, but cheaper
Am i going to be pleased with the desire, and is it worth paying £27.50 a month for 2 years?!

Yes absolutelyand is it worth paying £27.50 a month for 2 years?!
No way, unless you have an exceptionallly good reason to stay with Orange. I'm with T-mobile and got the desire for 9.99 up front on a £20/month contract from buymobilePhones.net
Supply a PAC code when you check out and you get the phone in 2 days (or I did)
Alternatively use this deal as a stick to beat down the cost of Orange...0 -

I have to stay with orange as I wouldn't be able to get a contract anywhere else....
Not sure what the FUP is - it says unlimited? I wouldn't use it much to be honest, just for emailing and checking facebook that sort of thing. I have had a look at phones4u and CPW but nothing jumping out at me. I guess I am just going to have accept I am not going to get a good deal like some other people have:mad:0 -
no did you try and upgrade through them? ask them what upgrades they can offer you on orange and compare them with orange direct0

Thanks. I called them and I can have a free Desire, £25 a month, 300 mins, unlimited everything else (FUP 500mb)
Don't know what to do now! If I pay the extra 2.50 a month I will get 50 mins?!
Grr at orange, apparently I am a Band 2 customer.....whatever that means, so I am not going to get a better deal :mad:0 -
