Hi, i bought a Compaq laptop at end of July this year , tonight i noticed a red cross through battery. I have followed instructions on website and gave battery a health check through HP advisor ,and it is saying it is time to replace battery.
Not very tech minded,but surely a battery should last longer than 4 month ?

Leave it plugged into the mains all the time or where its hot and it'll kill budget laptop batteries in no time.
Only problem is batteries are treated as a consumable throughout the entire industry so you may not be successful in a claim unless there's a known problem.0
