I know that people are different and that the same condition affects people in different ways.
But to be serious, you have been diagnosed with mild arthritis of the hips, yet the consultant diagnosed the left hip only.
Do you not realise, that there are many many people out there with arthritis more severe than what you are complaining of?
Let's say that you had it in your neck, both sholders, both wrists, most fingers (that are say now deformed), both hips, both knees and most of the toes, would you consider that to be more serious and disabling?
If so, even with that amount of arthritis and disability, it is unlikely that you would be entitled to DLA!
OK you find walking painful, so do a lot of others. The best form of treatment for arthritis is exercise, NOT putting your feet up! Read up on the subject and ask your GP. Get your legs moving daily, if need be take some more paracetamol, and walk through the pain. It does become easier the more exercise that you carry out.
I am not at all surprised that your claim was dismissed!!
To argue that you are disabled is in a way an insult to those that actually are!
hey i am no sponger claim no other benefits. Asked the gp if i should walk more for it to get better and he said no!! my gp is an ex army doc and no soft touch so do not judge. This is not what this site is about.Make £11,000 in 2011 / ebay £6000 -

It's about helping people in more ways than one.
If the DWP & the Tribunal believe that you don't fall into the category of DLA entitlement, then maybe they are right.
I only mentioned the individual that has those problems because that person also failed to convince both the DWP & the Tribunal that they warranted help from DLA.
That individual, then took advice elsewhere and was told that regular exercise was the key to improving mobility. It has actually worked. She now walks every day, but still has obvious problems with her hands. She has overcome those with aids and adaptions.
It was only because she failed in her application that she then considered other avenues. She now lives a life way beyond what she though possible 6 months ago.0 -
