opening dispute not as decribed from ebay

hello, do you think i'm valid in opening a despute.....??
Have done so now anyway however...

i purchased a pair of jeans states new with tags and never been worn 26inch waist and 32 inch leg....

recieved jeans with removable tag, been worn as dirty at bottom of jeans where it rubs on ground and shoes... also jeans been obviously altered, actual length recieved 29 inches instead of 32 inches leg... (did they think i wouldnt notice !!!! )

seller has said they are not worn neither are they shortened... sorry but the tape measure doesnt lie... so obviously short way that you didnt even need to try them on... !!!!!

have said i want price of jeans + postage AND cost of return postage as i would not have paid the amount i would have for worn jeans and also they are not the length advertised they are 3 inches shorter therefore of not good wot so ever...!!!!

thoughts????

p.s have about 6 pairs of these and adore them and would have been delighted if they were the correct length ... person have less that 20 feedbacks.... i have over 500 ( just a perspective things that im no moaning over nothing nor just opening dispute without thinking)

thaNKS :)

Sure, go ahead. That sounds perfectly valid to me.

Mmmm just be careful, have ebay given you any advice yet?
if you post them back i would make sure they have to sign for them or the next thing is you'll get an email saying they haven't received them!!!

Feedback doesn't make a whole lot of difference. eBay usually side with the buyer. If a seller said that to me, then I would be opening a dispute. They will make you send it back tracked (recorded or Special Delivery depending on what it's worth) but the good news is eBay will force a refund when it shows as delivered.

Some sellers don't realise that they do themselves out of a lot of goodwill simply to avoid giving back money for returned items.

You will lose your return postage though, which will be quite high as you will need to send tracked, recorded is a waste of time & money.
  • recordeed is still trackable which is what counts as it shows it is in there posession. I have raised a disput and stated that i want the postage of me returning the item refunded AS WELL as original postage as the item is significantly not as described. It is advertised and labels as 32 inch leg however has been altered and now measure a 29 inch leg which as far as i am concerned is significantly not as described as why would i bid on jeans that are 3 inches shorter than my legs!!!

I have taken this to ebay as i will sent them tracked and get money ad postage refunded as this is completely ridiculous!! Certainly will have them tracked though and have said that on dispute that "for me the buyer and you the seller i will send recorded delivery so there are no queries on when posted by me the buyer and when item is recieved by you the seller"

You cant actually force the seller to refund the return postage you are aware of this arent you?
  • i want price of jeans + postage AND cost of return postage
You might want the cost of return postage, but I'm afraid that the seller is under no obligation to pay for it.

Just to be pedantic recorded is NOT a trackable service it is merely standard mail. The Post man is supposed to obtain a signature on delivery but in practice in most areas now this is nto the case.
