I am rather confused....I don't think I've ever filled in an IB50. ....Unless that was the initial claim form? But I've never had a form to fill in since claiming IB. And I've never had a medical either. Not for IB or DLA.
I send in sick/fit notes every 6 months and my money goes into my account. My DLA (Lower rate both components) is an indefinite award as they accept my condition is never going to improve. (I have ASD/Aspergers/Dyspraxia).
Then again, there is a part of me that is absolutely terrified of being called for my medical. (I know it will eventually happen!)...Not that I am worried that my claim is not genuine - my GP and specialist are both certain it is, but I have absolute zero faith in ATOS.0 -

The decision should be made on what a person can or cant do not their medical condition
Conversely i want a medical or to fill out a form because how would they know your up to date medical condition and how would they know what you can and cant do!
The migration to ESA should be made on medical grounds not a persons postcodeChild of a Fighting Race.0 -
I became disabled in 1992 and Ive never filled in a form (apart from my initial form) or had a medical, I am seriously disabled and I dont believe there is any job I could do, I am a deaf powerchair user who has little use in my primary arm/hand, my left hand is a little better but still has limited use.
I also have scoliosis which is causeing me major problems ATM and two slipped discs in my neck, my spine is totally fluffed from top to bottom and I have other not so major disabilities.
What job could I possibley do on the odd day Im not stoned on the drugs needed to keep my pain level bearable?
edited to add I havnt sent in a sick note since the initial 12 months one in 1992.0 -

I agree with this.
My DLA is not given for my condition, but for my needs. As far as working goes, my GP and my specialist have both said that I am not able to even look for work at the moment - any work.
I would be more than happy to submit to a medical by a qualified doctor who was making an informed, professional judgement on my capabilities.
However, ATOS are not the people to make this decision. I believe they have shown themselves to be totally incompetent for the job.0 -

I had my IB50 a few months ago & sent it back straight away but haven't heard anything back.
Saying that I haven't had to have a medical since my intial claim in 2006 but I put that down to my Key Worker/OT usually filling the IB50 forms out for me saying in no uncertain terms that I was unfit for any kind of work.
This is the first one i've filled in myself but they have put my DLA up to mid rate care so maybe that's the reason they haven't asked me to go for one. :think:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

The truth is that no one really knows whats happening with the transfer to esa from ib,but it seems to me that those who are due for an assessment under ib50 between the last few weeks and next march will be the first to be done and then those due from march will be reassessed on the date their ib50 was due,in between all this will be those whos ib runs out after march 2013 when the transfer process should be completed.0

How do I know when I am due for an assessment? - I have never had one for my IB or DLA - and I have never filled out an IB50 (unless my initial claim was one) - the only paperwork I have ever sent is my sick/fit notes every 6 months.0 -
