I buy a bargin regardless of who's selling it, the 'tramp' in my local pub has a different Tag watch on every week. I asked around and he owns one of the largest building firms in the NE, he is loaded but you would never know and he doesn't brag. Bet you lot are dripping in cheap gold.0

I just knew someone would say that!:oGabbaGabbaHey wrote:So what exactly is your definition of a "dealer", if it's not somebody who buys items with the specific intention of reselling them (as you are doing)?
Dictionary definition of a dealer – a person who buys and sells goods.
Fair enough – we’re guilty! But imo that really refers to a person who does it for a living. I know that’s MY definition but that’s my choice!
We do bootsales because we enjoy the social side of a good bootsale – we know umpteen people and really have a good laugh with them – exchanging anecdotes; tales and gossip.
Yes – we do make some money but at the end of the day it’s more important that we’ve all enjoyed the sale.
We are fair-weather sellers and we’ve missed quite a lot of weekends because of bad weather. If we became ‘dealers’ or ‘traders’ we’d have to be selling every weekend – it would become a business and we’d lose all the relaxed approach. For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.

Interesting that some of you look at the sort of car the stallholder has... what would you make of one without a car at all?0

Oh we'd all assume they were "bus passengers" and would have nothing worth selling :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Contains_Mild_Peril wrote:Interesting that some of you look at the sort of car the stallholder has... what would you make of one without a car at all?
Seriously, the car argument is ridiculous. We have four in the family and I tend to go out in whichever one is at the end of the drive. Am I a a different person because I'm driving an H-reg Clio from when I'm driving a Private Plate Lexus? Can I help?0
