Walked a mile plus today for a car boot sale that was not on. The only benefit was that I got 2 plus miles worth of exercise out of it.

LOL.. i never buy from dealers either.. I dont think thats what Car Boot sales are for as far as I am concerned. I like the little stalls where someone is just trying to shift junk... thats where the bargains are!!

I dont judge the Booters myself, but I do feel for them cos its obvious people will look at them before the goods on their stall and then make a decision as to go to their table/stall.

Car boot season's almost over now so for anyone in the West Midlands, there is an indoor one at Arrow Auctions in Redditch every Sunday.

nope I can beat you on the shallow stakes - I wont buy from them at all - got to be new for me fraid:o :o

Did go to one a few weeks ago but it was as a seller and I was disgusted at how little money people would pay for good stuff - but hey as I wouldnt buy anything at all from the horrible places then who am I to say anything! Most of the people seemed to be dealers or selling knock off cds/dvds and the few that were genuine were getting next to nothing for stuff and then to top it all it started at 6am:confused::confused: Why???????

Sundays are designed for a lie in and then a trip to the local outlet for some new bargains:rotfl:

    Shallow Nels xx

btw mom 23 is that your swimming pool cos if it is you must be doing real well at car booting ;)
  • No don't buy from dealers, like to buy from genuine people clearing their junk, one persons junk is anothers treasure and all that.

I don't judge people at carboots, but I do sneak a quick glance at the seller to decide if their clothes may fit me - I'm an 8, so if a seller is clearly not my size, I won't bother looking. Yes, I realise they may be selling their daughters stuff and I may miss some bargains etc, but my carboot is just so big I don't have time to root through everyone's things.

Me too...well at least I took the car and didn't walk.

I wouldn't mind but it was only the second one I've been to this year and I'd checked it was on by reading the local paper before I set off.

Yeah, we drove past the day before and there was a board advertising it and no cancelled sign, like there often is, so i thought it was worth a try. Don't mind walking tho, extra exercise is nothing to worry about. I would have been !!!!ed off if i got the bus there or something tho...

I hope so! Fancy judging people by the sort of car they can afford. Remember it can be hard NOT to look scruffy on a wet and windy Sunday morning :)
    Can I help?
