Yeah but I got one of those cheap Chinese imports so hated by those in the know in here ;) so my stove prolly has as much air going on when closed as some of the "better" models have when the door is open:rotfl::rotfl:

My top vent I really only open if I have a pile of wood on. My glass keeps very clean, only needs a wee wipe with a bit of paper in the morning, no sticky bits or build up at all

Tell you something, I so wouldn't want to be pulling any cracker it came out of - took three men to get it in here :rotfl:

But it is a wee cracker - my wee cracker - now Im learning its ways

As a city lass who was used to heat at a flick of a switch, Ive got this cleaning, laying and lighting off to a tee. I actually get a lot of enjoyment from doing it - even going out side in the snow and minus 10 to fill the coal buckets and bring in wood

And Ive still got all the rads switched off in the house bar the rooms my parents use as they are old and like their rooms at steaming temps

Have the old uns fill coal bucket and fetch the wood, should allow you to turn stat down a notch or two with them creating their own heat through exercise :j

When I use wood to keep mine in then I have all vents closed except the back one which keeps the glass clean. When I use coal to keep it in I have to keep the top ones open a little otherwise it dies a death.
