We have a 3 seater in the same colour as the photo plus an extra set of red cord covers for the winter months. It is 2-3 years old and used daily in the family room.

It still looks good and the cushions have not lost their shape too much. A couple of the springs under the seats have detached but it has not affected the comfort. Everyone curls up with their legs so it is roughly used but nobody is jumping on it (they use the expensive sofa for that).

We got ours from the bargain corner at the Coventry store for 60% off and I have seen them there since so well worth looking out for. Covers often appear there as well.

Generally for the money, if it is used as a sofa then I think it is fairly good value especially as it has a 5 year guarantee

  • I have 1 3-seater and 2 2-seaters. I have 3 kids and the sofas have all been fine (1/2 price for all of them and extra covers from bargain corner). If any of you are short, these sofas are ideal as your feet can reach the floor while your back rests against the back cushions. I found washing the covers made them look like screwed up old dishrags, even when ironing them wet. When I got a different set, I washed each cushion cover separately in the machine and the main cover in the bath - they came out like new. We need to be able to spill so these sofas work well for us.

Hi, I want to buy a sofa-bed for my guest room, and I've found lots of these on ebay. Are they any good? I'm worried that it's too heavy, and it's only my partner and me to take it to a van and then upstairs... any advice?

Check the weight on the Ikea site prior to purchase.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

The one I found is a 2-seater, not for sale anymore @ Ikea. The 2-seater normal sofa is 60kg, which honestly I've no idea if I could lift or not.... I suppose the bed mechanisim can be taken apart?

Edit: Just in case someone is interested, I went to Ikea on Sunday and tried both sofas. The normal one is very comfy, really liked it. The sofa-bed is not!! It's very hard, and completely different, didn't like it at all . I decided to look for a normal Erktop on ebay, and then buy a foldable bed separately.
