I know that the 'rooms starting from £9 offer has expired' but I am looking to book some rooms starting Jan 1st, possibly for a few weeks. Based on previous offerings, does anyone have an idea on when the offer will be on next ? Do Travelodge do their promotion in early Jan ? thanks0

you want to stay from the 1st jan, or you plan to book from the 1st of jan?
if staying from the 1st of jan, then you are about 6m too late to book a cheap room. you might be able to find £19 rooms, as these have to be booked 21days in advance, but again, i think you will have missed the boat with those too. at such late notice, i think you will be looking at £50+ for most nights
when booking at short notice, the only way to find cheap rooms is to contact hotels direct and see if they are desperate to offload rooms cheaply. however, this rules out places like travelodge and premier inn, as they wont budge on price. you would have to look at the chains that have proper reception staff, who can make decisions on discounts, so Hilton, De Vere, Best Western, and independants
or look on laterooms and lastminute
