Still not got my V5 after 7+ months
I bought a Ford Fiesta Zetec S from Nationwide Cars in March this year. I signed a disclaimer saying that I would not sell the car for 6 months, so I wouldn't make a profit on their discounted price. Found this a bit pointless as it said they wouldn't give me the V5 until 6 months had lapsed. BTW either the dealer or nationwide pre-registered the car
I contacted them prior to moving house in September to give them a subtle reminder about sending me the V5 & to send to my new address.
I a now in a situation where i wish to either sell / trade in the car & still do not have the V5.
I have been in touch with them via email over the last 6 weeks or so & have been informed that the dealership who supplied the vehicle have sent it out, wait for it, to my old address! Anyway I have a redirect in place so should have received it by now.
I am totally fed up with this situation & want to know if there are any regulatory bodies I can complain to about this.
I know that you can phone up & request the documentation direct from DVLA for a £25 fee but don't see why i should have to do that or for that matter, why i am having to chase something that should be in my possession anyway.
I bought & paid for the vehicle, there is no finance on it.
Would appreciate some thoughts on this

Sounds like the dealer pulled a fast one on you by selling you a demonstrator car. They would of got it cheap and one of the conditions of that is that they can't sell it for so many months. Hence the long wait before they put it into your name.0

No, I don't think it was that because the vehicles 1st reg date was after i placed the order.
When you eventually get the V5c, you will find that it was indeed first registered then.
However, you will then see that you are the second keeper... taking over from the first keeper, possibly the garage that you purchased it from, after six months.0 -
Complain to the manufacturer. You owe the dealer nothing and writing to the manufacturers Customer Services centre will often jolt the dealer into action and will show the dealer up as a lying scumbag. The man without a signature.0

Why didn't you just go straight to the horses mouth and get one from DVLA?0

It would take at least a week & why should i be out of pocket?0 -
You aren't getting a duplicate, you are asking for the original which a replacement will be free.0

Would the dealer get any speeding fines or parking tickets?I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling0
