Orange San Francisco Vs LG Optimus GT540?

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a phone for around a £100 budget, and would really love an android phone. I've selected these two as these are pretty much the only two that are amazing in price and work well.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me which one is better and the pros and cons which would make it more clearer?

Thank you!

San Francisco has a better screen, LG has 2.2 as standard rather than a user upgrade, but fairly even.
  • Which one would give me my moneys worth for the next 12 months?

I just did a search for these 2 phones and found your post - I was going to ask the same question! They do seem fairly equal really, but reviews seem to vary. Differences in personal preference means I keep coming across different opinions online! A guy in an Orange store told me to go for the LG and said that he considered it better than an Orange own-brand mobile, but I'm dubious about his recommendations anyway! As for the responsivity of the screen, I can't really say; I've tried out the LG in the Carphone Warehouse and thought it was okay but would take some getting used to, but haven't been able to try the SF. The LG is being sold for £109 at Tesco (vs £150 on Orange.com) and the SF is selling for £110 on Orange.com (with free p&p, and free xmas gift box). Sorry I can't really help about which phone is better quality, I'm a little indecisive about it too.
