Can anyone offer advice on my problem? I have freeview with a box and all is working fine. In my son's room he has a TV with integrated Freeview and BBC1 hasn't been working for a while, all other channels are ok! What could be causing the problem?
TIA

You probably need to do a search for programs on his digi box to bring it up to speed. This assumes that his aerial connection is the same one that is used in the lounge.

Damn. I must go to sleep soon............0 -
Thanks Zahc, will give that a go now. Yes, it's the same aerial throughout.0

I have integrated freeview in 2 of my TVs
I sometimes do a disc format. Go onto menu, HDD control and then format. I then do the auromatic download.0 -
Thanks Kittie, will give that a go now. Re-scanned a few times last night but BBC1 is still the same.0

Enter your details into this site to find out the channels (frequencies) used for each multiplex. The chances are that you will find that the BBC mux, is at one end of the frequency range and possibly your aerial is not really good enough to receive this mux reliably.

Ok, my situation is now, can't find disc format on the menu, so haven't yet managed to try that.
I had a look at the mux and put in my postcode... my problem there is I can't understand what the results mean! Sorry but I amn't terribly technical minded, there is only me & my son here & it's literally like the blind leading the blind a lot of the time!! (I do try my best though)
Could it be an aerial problem now? We have had the TV about 5 months with no problems til a week ago, and the freeview downstairs works fine. (same aerial)
Thanks for all the advice/suggestions, I really appreciate it.0 -
These queries are ringing a bell with me.
My problem is that on my Panasonic TV with built-in digital tuner I cannot get Programmes 82 and 83 (Sky News and Sky Sports News). I used to get them but they disappeared suddenly. Of course everyone says "it must be your aerial", but I get "Sky 3/Travel" loud and clear (signal strength 9) and I can't imagine SKY has different strength signals.
Recently I acquired a Panasonic DVD recorder, also with built-in digital tuner, and found to my amazement that I CAN get the missing channels when using the recorder's tuner. So why not, using the TV tuner?????
This is a minor problem, but highlights I think the potential problems when we are all forced to go digital. Analogue TVs are relatively simple. Digital TVs/Digiboxes are inhherently more problematic.0 -
If it is definitely only BBC1 that you can't receive, it sounds like you need to re-tune. BBC1 is transmitted on mux 1 along with BBC2, BBC3, BBC News 24 etc as shown here. Therefore if you can receive these other channels that are broadcast from mux 1, your aerial is working fine. Read the user guide to see how to re-tune or make changes to the BBC1 channel that does not work. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

There is another thread on a similar theme, this is what I posted there:-
Well, we have three but only one of them gets a signal. A friend bought a new TV which had the free view installed so he gave us his old box and it is great. So then we decided to have it in the bedroom and bought a new box, this told us it could not get a signal so we took it back thinking is was a duff one. The replacement could not get a signal either - meanwhile the one from the friend is still working. We even took the our friends one and tried it in the other TVs and they all work with it. The one from our friend is a Dauwoo or something like that (not in front of it right now).0 -
Still having problems & BBC2 has gone now too.
Should I unplug TV upstairs & try it in the aerial downstairs where the box works fine? I think that would then determine if the problem was the TV or aerial connection upstairs.... Will let you know how I get on with that later. Just can't understand why the upstairs TV with freeview & downstairs box both worked fine together for a few months before the problems started!0
