BT phone harassment

Every day 2 or 3 times I get the same cold calling from BT about my broadband connection of which I have a great deal with o2 and am staying with it. I keep saying politely that I am busy, on my way out (all were true) but they persist and say it won't take more than a minute. How inconsiderate and rude. I put the phone down only to get a call again the next day. I loath BT and feel very angry they think they can intrude into my personal life. The last time they hasstled me on the phoe I gave in and spoke to them hopefully laying to rest the ghost of BT haunting me on the phone. How wrong I was. If there are any BT staff out there this is shameful.
I have heard a saying: If someone doesn't hear the word "No" the first time, they are trying to control you.

I've had success with all things BT using THIS webmail form.
Reply within an hour or so. Action almost as quick.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
How about saying 'i am not interested in switching my broadband, do not call me again' next time they call? If you say you are 'busy' or 'just going out', then to a telesales person, that means 'call back later'. You are being too subtle to people who are very thick-skinned.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you know the caller ID, I'd be inclined to put in a complaint about nuisance calls that you keep getting, and ask if they can block that number
If you're just going out, then say "Hold on, won't be a moment" then put the handset down without disconnecting and then go out anyway.0 -
Just tell them to go away in jumps.0

I just had one of these calls and ended up having to put the phone down on them.Stompa0

I have sent them a customer services mail as suggested here. See what happens.0

Nope, they just rang me again. It's always the same bloke.0

Tell him not to call again and to remove your details from their database, don't put the phone down until he confirms he has done as you have requested.0

Did you let them get as far as explaining what they are actually calling for? Are they definitely trying to get you to switch, or could it actually be BT Openreach calling you about a problem? They are the part of BT that operate the network and some of the equipment in the exchange which supplies your broadband.0

I normally just hang up on them or just mess around with them being akward so they watse their own time like they keep doing to me, however if they did keep doing it i would seriously think about sitiching casue that would really get on my nerves.
You have to be kind of nice though caus it is their job :-s0
