    I think it may be the other way round...he is building up these weird items such as mints in order to sell the e-books, which he will be making profit from.The others he is lsong dosh from as he is giving extra money away.

    He is selling advertising space on his website, which is a similair idea to the Million Dollar website, he is also selling design services for eBay shop windows, ebook covers and websites.
