• Now you've got me going possibly an incredibly good marketing ploy whereby he is actually selling a tube of toothpaste, but has some scam going where 'friends' post a few times and build up hype to make it sound like something else (drugs B]Charlie] , monay laundering [Mint[/B etc - Or maybe just appealing to the greed in his customers - thinking they are getting something 'special' (mostly Americans, if I am not mistaken - No offence???

I'm struggling!
You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.

Looking at the page closer, it seems like the person who wins the auction gets a refund on the full amount of the auction plus they get extra special gifts;

See here

Now...the answer is why is he doing this....what is he getting out of it? I think because he is gaining a massive amount of publicity on these weird items his other cheap e-books are selling really well. Thats how he is able to give these extras for the large value items, through the profit he is making on the e-books!

Marketing is the key here!

What if you paid and he disappeared with the money before refunding.

I think thats the risk people are willing to take for the rewards. The guy has built up quite a reputation on ebay I have to say.
