Paypal Help Needed - Limitation on account

Morning all!
I have a huge problem with BOTH of my paypal accounts (one private, one business) and after having a huge clearout to raise money to move house,i have had a limitation put on both accounts and i have to provide ID,proof of address etc and then have a review of my accounts. So,I cant send or recieve money, etc.
If it was a few quid then ok,i wouldnt be worried but i have over £500 that i cant get. I have had no problems with the parcels i sent and got positive feedback for the buyers who did leave fb.
Is there anything i can do? I dont want to send my ID,etc off as its my money and i dont think its fair that they can have such a hold over my money. one suggestion was to tell the financial ombudsman and then take it to small claims court.
Has anyone been in this posistion before?
Thanks for your time and any replies

The first question is are both accounts the same sort? Ie both premier/business accounts .
You are only supposed to have one of each type and they reserve the right to close accounts if you have more than one and retain your funds for 180 days.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Are they both in your name?skint-student-nurse wrote: »hi soolin, one is business linked to my business ebay account for my jewellery store and the other is just a basic account linked to my private ebay account.
That would be what Paypal is more concerned about."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Cyberbob is the expert on paypal accounts but assuming the 'basic' one is actually a premier one then I think you have a problem as a business and a premier are considerd the same sort of account.
I have a premier and a micro account and use both across all my accounts both buying and selling.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Phone them, grovel a bit and plead ignorance. If they point out that you are in breach of their terms and conditions, grovel a bit more..they may relent if you are pro active enough.
Then once you get your accounts sorted close one of them to stay within the t and cs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Go to your 'personal' account and log in just under your name where is says 'welcome skint student nurse' it says the type of account it is. If it's a premier one as the others have said this is breaking the terms and conditions which will be why your accounts have been limited.
All you can do is provide them the information they want. Personally I would also phone them after and act dumb and say you didn't know and are happy to close one. I have heard of people doing this and managing to keep the one account and it being unlimited. It's worth a go anyway as you have nothing to lose. If not they are within rights to hold your money for 180 days and close your accounts.0 -
my business account has a message saying:
Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):
21 Nov 2010: For reasons relating to the safe use of the PayPal service we need some more information about some of your recent eBay and PayPal activity.
So confused! I had one INR on this account but it was me that opened the case,it seems to me that after i on the case,my account became limited.

There is a chance that the accounts have been limited for some other reason and the discovery of the two types of account is just a by product.
Hopefully it will all sort itself out. Good Luck0
