£96 inc VAT, eh? So where is his VAT number on his website (a legal requirement). You could always email back "We refer you to the reply given to the plaintiff in Arkell v. Pressdram" (look it up!)
  • Just registered on the site to see if costs and warnings came up. No costs have been displayed using fred's pseudonym.

lmao, thats awful web design to leave Lorum Ipsum in. I don't think Hairy_g was joking though, unless you have experience in the industry it's not really something you would know about.

In terms of the tattoo, please don't use designs you find online, they are ten a penny. A good tattooist will draw you something unique to you.

"2. Access to the Online database shall be provided for a term of 12 months, not automatically renewed, upon payment of 96 pounds (including VAT) by the User."

Reading that, i presume the contract isnt 'live' until payment has been taken - which it hasnt so i wouldnt worry

Just wondering - did any of you look up Arkell vs Pressdram? It'll make you chuckle.
  • Hi everyone,

I too have been 'conned' by this website. In fact, I'm the original poster from the link that mrbadexample posted!!

I wanted to ask the original poster Fatcat1974, and MARSAL333 about any progess/recent communications they've had with this guy, if at all?

My latest is that he has basically threatened that he has no choice but to start written proceedings with the lawyers!

I'd love to say I'm as confident about this as others have posted here, but it's always in the back of my mind - I really don't want to end up with a massive bill for something I didn't even know I was comitting too in the 1st place!!

    I'd agree with this.

Take a copy of all relevant pages from his site (screen shot them). Sign up again using totally fake details if need be.

If anything ever comes of it by way of legal proceedings all the mistakes and dodgey stuff on there will get it thrown out.

Realistically though, you have nothing to worry about.
I am tempted to sign up myself so I can bait the guy :p
