sorry misread the post.You live..You learn.:)0

If you can't be bothered finding a phonebox on the couple of occasions a decade you want to speak to someone you can always communicate via email or snail mail. Rather than hanging on a handset many people would prefer one or two clearly stated definitive second-class letters - though judging from post #4 this may not be your forte. I would say your primary complaint is with your mobile phone providers - moan to them about the limitations and exclusions of their bundled minutes.0

Mind you, my gp have changed there local number to an 0845 number. Why? I`m not sure.... I mean no-one who is 400 miles away is going to really benefit but locals who have no landline are going to cough up. I`m fed-up with these 087,0844,0845 etc...
the other day (whilst at work) I spend all 30 minutes and another 15 of lunch break trying to "find"/get to my "local" Tax Office, only to hear, that they cant help with my query...:(0 -

You're losing sympathy from me for calling those of us who do have land lines, 'in the dark ages'. I have a land line because of ADSL. It's cheaper than any other method of connecting to the internet for me. Your choice how you run your life but don't slag the rest of us off.0

...So the question I'd have: any energy supplier you know that uses 020 or 014 etc etc, not 0845 or 0870 or 0800 numbers? ...!
Ebico publish both a freephone number and a geographic telephone number on their website to enable people to call them.
Have a read of the MSE article on calling freephone numbers from mobiles. 0800 buster

Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

Bottom line- wired line is dark ages, did not have one for reason (there is no single reason , apart from current trend of major companies to get "anonymous" numbers)
I do have decent Internet without landline (mobile broadband)
I stated very clearly- will not get outdated/rip off nonsense of a phone only to please arrogance and "policies" of big firms in order to call them only.
From the beginning, I asked for number of energy supplier supplier, that does fit in to "my understanding of rules for decent business"...
What are complaining about? that I am certain on what I've asked advice for? or I'm not considering your opinion about wired line as viable?0
