Hi,
We are hoping to get a new tv for christmas and are a bit confused as to which sort to get. It's a lot of money to spend so need to make the right decision.
We would like a 42 inch screen but i'm not sure what is the best to get out of plasma, led and lcd and which makes and models are good.
Would idealy be hd ready and have freeview.
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Basically, it all depends on your budget.
I'd definitely go for 1080p - some HD Ready TV's of the cheaper variety are on 720p.
Also. depending on what you do with the TV - games, TV, Blu-rays etc some TV's have 50Hz and 100hz scanning which supposedly stops blurring.
Have a look at these. http://www.richersounds.com/

You could do far worse than buy a 42 inch Panasonic S20 - or G20 if you want to add FreesatHD. These are Full HD plasma TVs with a fantastic picture, and also FreeviewHD tuners (don't buy a tv without one these days). You can also plug a Hard Drive into them and use them as a basic PVR (as in you can record 1 thing at a time, but can't watch anything else), and the G at least has internet connectivity allowing you to watch iPlayer, YouTube etc on your TV - VieraCast and Freesat.
Look at Richer Sounds as above, and also look for deals on M&S etc.0
