So you have a choice - make the best of a bad situation and continue with college, or quit college and sit at home and dwell. It might feel tough now, but think about five years from now - would you like to have qualifications and be in a decent job, or still sat at home dwelling?
I would like a decent job. like i said before some days i dont get it at all, some days the pains will be horrible but not enough to spot me from attending college and then there is the days where the pain is so bad it can sometimes put me to tears.0 -
If you'd like PM anytime for some advice and support I would be happy to hear from you
After what i've been through it is my mission in life to stop it happening to anyone else! I am 23 and my problems started at 19 so I do know exactly where you're coming from. 0 -

Like I said I'm 24, had IBS since I was 14 and it's excarbated from having a dodgy vagus nerve, bad IBS day for me leads to a loss of conciousness (but then I collapse all the time anyway so no big deal). Worked part time since I was 16, studied full time with part time job from age 19-23 and then worked full time with part time study 23 til present.
I think you're really giving in too easily, cramps stopping you from going to college? Most women could take a week off work/school every month with this excuse !!!!!! we use these miraculous things called painkillers!
Also you're meant to keep a diary when you're on the rice diet?0 -

Its not just cramps... if you have had IBS you will know what its like, Cramps, constant pains, always needing the toilet, sometimes headaches, drowsiness.
These are things i get on a regular bases and together its horrible.0 -

I do get cramps with IBS; but it's not something that's ever stopped me from going to uni or college. They also do pass within an hour or two.
TBH, it's just something you learn to adapt to. Yes, I have to be near a toilet when I go out; but it's not that hard to find one.
I really think you're worrying about nothing. I had it very bad when I started having problems - although that was partly due to a reaction to the medication.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

and again, I do have IBS and i've had actual tests done too including getting biopsies from a camera shoved up my backside, and i see a gastroenterologist at the hospital and i have a dietician and i even have an IBS nurse and a radar key.
I was giving advice to another poster about using bepanthem wipes a few months ago because they're easier to use than the cream and we both get sores from other complications, do you think i could have come up with that gem without experiencing it?0 -
Anyone who does have IBS/bowel issues should know how it varies, and can wildly, from person to person and that some find it easier to cope than others.0
