Has being OS made you lonely?

It looks like there might be a need for another OS meet in London soon! Dandy-candy, if you subscribe to this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1244603
you will find when we meet up. This happens quite ad-hoc and at the moment we tend to meet in SE London because that's where I live and as I am organising it I know the best local places.
But it would be great to have a more central meet (we did go to the Imperial War Museum once to see the Ministry of Food exhibition) or go anywhere else in London.
I shall put a date on the OS Meet Up soon (hopefully before Christmas) but please feel free to beat me to the post and organise one yourself first, I shall definitely come along and I am sure many more from this forum will, too. There is no need to feel lonely when there's so many of us!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I am 68 and in my third year of my history degree that I am doing part-time.I love it and have made stacks of friends. When I was widowed in 2003 I had just finished doing some GCSE's and was determined to keep going. It has been a lifeline to me.I may be the oldest student there but the rest of the class treat me with great kindness and we have a terrific time.I craft, knit ,swim, and am an amatuer genealogist. My life isn't so much finding things to do but finding time to get everything in.I have seven gorgeous grandchildren whom I adore plus my lovely family whom I would walk through fire for .At my time of life I want to get as much enjoyment and fun out of it .I had a nasty cancer scare three years ago and had to have a mastectomy but it doesn't stop me from wringing as much out of my life as I can.Next year I am hoping if I can find the time to take up watercolour painting. You are never too old to learn new things.0
