Hi All,
Am looking at getting Sky pretty soon as I can't get all the Freeview channels at my current place, don't want to spend a fortune setting up Freesat and can't get Virgin Media.
I however, do not want to pay £10 a month for the HD pack, I do have a 32" LCD Samsung and do appreciate the quality of HD, but I only want the basic £19.50/month package.
I was looking on the Sky site and it seems the Sky+ box is actually the HD box anyway, so does this mean that you would get BBC HD and ITV HD without the HD subscription? As it would presumably use a HDMI connection. Also does anybody know if it is ever possible to negotiate a free box and set up, even if there is none such offer advertised?

Sky stopped selling the Sky+ box a while back. As you've stated, it's the HD box you get now.
The free box offers recently have always been for taking the HD sub. There doesn't seem to be any for just a Sky+ package. There is £25 cashback through Quidco though.
You will get the Free To Air HD channels.Dave. :wave:0 -
After less than a year your Sky subs will easily overtake the one-off cost of Freesat. You could always do Freesat from Sky the cheap way; free or secondhand Sky box from freegle/eBay, local installer of dish and LNB (£100 max) or even DIY for about £30. Then it is free forever. No free lunch, and no free laptop
