Golly gosh, it looks like a kitchen again! I have also created a huge pot of chicken broth, blended for DD as the tonsils are so huge, and made a leftovers curry for tea. Been to hairdressers, so I am tidy too, for once! Time for a coffe, I think!

Hope piggers et al are ok
LL good to see you posting x
Glad some of the poorly people are feeling better
Toots – shiny elbow is giving me gyp in this weather as usual. You had hear the bone and chrome rubbing together whenever I shake something like a deodorant can! Very strange without DD2 and Chloe - though it's more about me missing Chloe than DD2! What a shame about Cornhill too x
Natty68 – I sent you a private message on FB about xmas cards this year – did you get it?

I'm usually floating around on FB but realized I hadn't been in here for a while :o I guess a mixture of illness & BD makes the days blend into one!

Anyway love to all ... sticks, hugs, kicks as appropriate ;)

 LL, lovely to see you posting.

JoJo/Sockdrawer - I agreed on the card and the bottle. This is the first post 18 Christmas for SS1, he is working now (and has more disposable income than us) so in two minds what to do for him. Whatever we do it sets precedence for the others once they are older.

Not long home, it is martial arts for the boys tonight which makes for a hectic evening. I have dragged a box upstairs but nothing much else done. I must as a minimum put the WM on, and empty/fill the DW whilst making the boys tea.

I agree with the card and bottle thing, I know it sounds silly but you have checked she is ok, even if she doesn't want to have a lot of contact with the family?

    Pigpen~ hope all is OK

  • Well, I survived mother's visit. She seemed quite positive about the new house . The Bloke got called a fussbudget and told to stop worrying so much... like that's made a difference in 6 years. The cats were called sweet and pretty (she really doesn't know them at 2am, does she?). But she stayed for lunch, then until 4 when the Bloke drove her home, having invited her and my oldest brother (who has Asperger's, and probably won't be keen on the prospect) over for Xmas Dinner.

I am going to go with the champers for DD1, she sees DD2 at KH2's once or twice a month (the one with the manky hand), plus FB contact. She doesn't want to talk to me at all, will say 'hello, got to go' when I contact her. I wouldn't want her to say, or be convinced by FW and Mrs FW (KH1 & his wife) 'Mum never even bothered getting me a card for my 18th', but I don't see why I should bang out a couple of hundred on someone I never hear from. So thanks for the advice, you've helped me realise it is the best thing to do.

SKY men came and moved the dish, making it look much nicer.

Now waiting for everyone to get home so I can get carbonara going.

HANG ON - I've just checked the tatty envelope mum left on the kitchen table. £100 in crisp notes and 'For Christmas' scrawled across it.

    [thud]

    Afternoon all

Invigilating done so having a quick cuppa then I'm going to hoover downstairs and class that as today's flying. I did plant 100 dutch iris bulbs earlier - just 25 bulbs to go now and they are to be put in pots temporarily once I get some compost.

Hex - how are you feeling hun?

Max - have a wonderful holiday

Toots - hope you are not missing Cornhill too much

Sockdrawer/jojo[/B] - so sorry things are not great with you kids. Not sure what I'd do but know I'd be feeling a whole load of guilt. I guess limiting the presents could have the desired effect and they sure don't deserve more by the sounds of things. Will you want to explain the reason why so they don't say words to the effect of 'see I knew you didn't care about me'. We did stop sending anything to DH's nephew past 18 as we never got so much as a thank you text off of him ever and as we never saw him either we were happy with this. I don't think we should get him anything for Christmas either and we won't be seeing him but I'll have to discuss that with DH.
