I'm at least attempting "in" again this week; many thanks to FCC.

    Monday Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    Level One
Clean floors in these rooms Done by Mr LW
Clean baths, toilets and sinks Done
    Level Two
Clear any clutter from desk and file the necessary bits and shred the rest! All done – finally got Mr LW to do the last bit of his last night.;)
Pull out PC desk and declutter/vacuum behind it..is it pretty and clean yet? Mr LW has done behind his – mine still hasn't been done, but I don't feel inclined to nag while he's busy working on the doors. His desk can be crawled under to clean; mine needs to be hauled out physically, which I cannot do myself.:o
Descale shower head! Done; and the taps while I was at it.
Dust wipe and vacuum keyboard! polish screens! Done
    Level Three
Wipe down tiles and mirrors Done
Clean shower screen/curtain.bath mats etc if required Done
Sort towels and dispose of raggedy ones All tidy – we don't have any raggedy ones (they get reassigned as cleaning cloths or go to the RSPCA when they get tatty)

    Extras
    1. HHI!! HHWii instead (ironing all done yesterday)
    2. Tidy airing cupboard! It's tidy – Mr LW's province, as he's tall enough to reach the top shelf, and he's very good at keeping it shipshape.
    3. Binbag dance! Done
    4. Wipe any chairs/sofas in these areas No chairs in bathroom; sofa etc will be done on lounge day.
I hope the day has gone as well as possible for Boddy and for Dusty's friend. I'm also sorry to hear Jools' news.

Toots thanks for the "pep talk" in your post yesterday; you're quite right, I couldn't handle having professionals in to do the doors.

I've decided that rather than run myself ragged trying to keep the place up to scratch, I'm only going to do the necessary clearing up plus do the day's assigned room while all this is going on. The spare room will get what I can reach done, and the rest will just have to get dusty; I'm not risking life and limb climbing over the other doors, the tools and the Workmate.

I shall also take over the Sunday task of ironing - it's not as bad as it sound, as we actually iron very little; basically all it will be is Mr LW's shirts and trousers for work the following week, plus whatever hankies there are to do, and any other bits and pieces - very little of mine gets ironed, and we don't bother doing bedlinen. As long as I take it steady and get Mr LW to move the ironing board for me, I'll manage.;)

The other thing we've decided is that I'll be varnishing the doors, as I'm better with a brush than Mr LW - indeed, he left a door flat on the kitchen floor this morning, for me to do one side of (it's been done now). I feel a bit better about that, because it means I can contribute to the work. It's an ongoing source of frustration that before I became disabled, I'd be knocking on with the job - all of it - while Mr LW ws at work. Indeed, in a former life, I've probably done The Whole Lot myself, as the XH never lifted a finger round the house while there was a toy train to play with and a cigarette to be smoked.

LOL Oh dear, I've rather gone on at length, haven't I? I'll shut up now.:o

    Hi all,

I hope everyone is ok, i haven't been on for ages.

Things have been manic here, with family problems and setting up a handmade jewellery business. I'm going on a course tomorrow for the rest of the week with the Princes Trust and i'm very excited.:j

My poor house has suffered though. It's in such a state, worst case of CHAOS for a long time. :cool:Last night OH bleached my fridge to within an inch of it's life as it was disgusting :o.

I'm not at all ready for Christmas either and usually everythings bought and wrapped by now. There don't seem to be enough hours in the day, i need to get into some sort of routine again.

Right enough waffling i need to FLY.........

    HHC at 3.40 anyone?

Just had Mr LW's December work rota (he emails it to me so that I can put his shifts on the kitchen calendar). He has NO late shifts while we have Sidney, so he'll be home well in time to do Sid's insulin injections.:T:T:T:T:T He's On Call for the week from 06:00 on Friday 24th til 06:00 on Friday 31st.:T:T:T:T:T I'm happy!

  • Cooo – eeeeee it’s me! Hope everybody is good and well – hugs, spoons and love in abundance for those that need/want them. Sorry I’ve been so carp at coming on – I have all good intentions and then they go out of the window!

House isn’t looking too bad – just keep s/sing when really it needs a deep clean. Well actually that’s a bit of a fib as did major clean when DD2 and Chloe left. It was Chloe’s christening last weekend and she was an absolute angel – didn’t make a murmur and just sat in the vicars arms with the holy water running into her eyes! Dan was her godfather and DD2’s best friends from reception class were the godmothers.

Dan is back in Munchengladbach, though he’s back on the 4th for a couple of days as he’s been invited to the big service at York Minster for injured service men and women, then back on the 18th until the 27th so at least he has Christmas here.

DD1 unfortunately still doesn’t have a job – she’s applied for loads and loads and half of them don’t even reply to say ‘sorry not this time’. She’s getting majorly fed up now poor thing.

Right I will try and read through the thread. Many thanks as usual to the FCC. Much love as always to Toots. I love your joke e-mails, make me smile – which is a hard thing to do when I’m sat at work believe me! Also love to LL x I was just saying the other day on FB how much I miss soappie as well so anyone who is in contact with her – please send her my love. Hope today went as well as it could Boddy x

Ooh just logged on to MSE and I have a private message from MSE webmaster - I had one of those dodgy ones on my hotmail that I read about on FB – is it ok to open the private message on here?

    Hey, good to see you!
It's par for the course, I'm afraid; it now seems to be standard practise not to bother to acknowledge peoples' job applications unless they're going to actually take it further. Mr LW was out of work for 11 months a few years back, applied for over 300 jobs in that time, and you could count on your fingers the number of acknowledgements he had. Tell her not to take that aspect personally, it's just that Human [STRIKE]Remains[/STRIKE] Resources depts nowadays seem to have left manners by the wayside. I hope she finds something soon.:o
