I'm after a phone for the wife...

i know this is gonna be a minefield but at least I kinda know what she wants BUT i still need a little help if it all possible?

My wife wants a phone for no more than about £20-£25 a month.

The main thing that she wants from the phone is -

simple to use Email.
quite a large screen.
to be able to use the internet.
She doesnt need loads of minutes & texts, probably about 200 minutes & 200 texts.

I checked out the article on this website & tried the best buy site but it just gets confusing so I thought I would ask one of you friendly people for some advise on any deals/phones that could be recommended. :)

Post a picture of her and we'll see what she's worth, are we talking Iphone or Nokia 3310 :D

Seriously I'd say go into a shop and try them. Like most women the look and feel will probably be higher on the list than the spec.

GiffGaff is one option, Vodafones PAYG FreeBees tarrif is another, for £10 a month you get 300 texts and 500MB of web access.

GiffGaff will at some point stop doing unlimited internet, they've already stopped unlimited minutes due to abuse, and I suspect that they'll soon be forced to do it with Texts and Web.

Hence why the major networks introduced FUPs, which, of course, are sooooooooooooo unfair.

There is always a minority who spoil it for everyone else.
If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

  • thanks guys. just found a htc wildfire for £20 with t-mobile wth 600 minutes & unlimited texts. does this sound like a good deal? or is there a better phone on the market with this price range? san francisco one looks very good but it would seem silly to pay for £100 for that when you can get the wildfire for free.
  • Wildfires are quite good, just think of a desire with slight less features, £20 is a good deal at the moment although there might be some deals through various retailers that give cashback or reduced line rental.
