Definitely don't just use the cheapest stuff and mix. As mentioned above the different colours can react. As it stands I would be considering flushing out the entire system and renewing the coolant with the stuff specified by the car manufacturer. If it's a VW/Skoda/Seat/Audi you'll want G12, G12+ or G12++.

If somebody made tyre's that cost £25 each, were rock solid, lasted for 2 million miles, had no grip, but were guaranteed to always pass the MOT.... We brits would go out of our way to buy them.

:rotfl:Someone ran into the back of me with a set of those on. Fortunately no damage apart from the earbashing from me over the state of his tyres (legal, but utter ----).

Pretty sure Kwik Fit sell those, but the cost saving is negated by the fact that you will need new brake discs and pads all round and replacement headlight fluid.

    Vehicle not found

Sorry, we couldn’t match a vehicle to that registration. Please check the registration number entered is correct or search by make/model

And the make/model search doesn't list my car either, which is amusing because it lists many more obscure Nissan imports, such as the Nissan Cedric, but none made before about 1997 :(

I bought the red antifreeze to put in my daughters car after a complete drain, flush, etc. Then I found I couldn't use it as it wasn't good for the old a series engine, so back to the blue stuff.
So it's not always backwards compatible to use the red longlife stuff.

not trying to be annoying, but please whatever make of anti freeze you use, keep it away from anywhere a cat could get at and lick as they do (for some reason) and it causes them a terrible death. thanks.

I have heard its because it contains Ethylene glycol which is sweet tasting.

Its a good warning to keep all sorts of these chemicals away from children and pets.

Forget the colour crap, cheap "supplier" will match this so you think your getting what you need. It's not as critical as some may think, simply a matter or whether your car has more ferrous less ally components and vice versa.

Read the spec from the manual and buy the right grade not the prettiest colour !!!!!! :D;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I think the costs of driving to Swansea from North Wales may just outweigh the savings from buying in Poundland :)

As other have mentioned, be sure to get a compatible type. Tesco do one that's compatible with both if you are unsure, but it's not so cheap.

On an unrelated note, my car has green antifreeze in it, a colour that's a darker shade of those green Mountain Dew energy drink bottles that have started showing up in petrol stations. Anyone know what type of antifreeze that is?

Mountain Dew:A, the only memorable thing I recall from florida, apart from Ewam Williams bourbon;), and I really can't remember that.

Can you get proper Mountain Dew in the UK??
