Lost Mobile Phone

Hi guys,

Wasn't sure what section to put this in so hope this is OK.

Unfortunately, I lost my phone last night. Problem is I'm aware you have to call the police to report it but I do not have the IMEI or sim card number ... What should I do?

Should I phone Orange and say I've lost it without reporting it? Will they send me a replacement even though I do not have that info? I pay insurance to Orange monthly.

Thanks in advance.

  • you will need a crime number off the police
  • Will they give me that without sim card and IMEi numbers?
  • If you still have the box for the phone the IMEI number will be on the side of that. You should've reported this hours ago. I dread to think what kind of charges may have been racked up by now!

Yes, the very first thing you need to do is phone Orange and report this. This should have been done immediately the phone was lost. This will block the phone and SIM. They will be able to give you the details to report to the police. (You'll have a lost property number, not a crime reference number)
