Poor battery - Anyone here with experiences with Apple Genius Bars in London?

Hi,

I have an Apple iPhone 3G, still under warranty (Applecare extended) which may have some problems with my battery.

Does anyone here have any experience with any of the Genius Bars in London? This includes the Apple Store in Regent Street, Covent Garden, Westfield White City etc.

a. Do they change the battery, or do they swap your phone with a replacement one?

b. Do they give you a receipt after the job is done - I'm particularly worried if they swap my phone with another phone, I may have problems with insurance coverage!

Hi i did it with a ipod touch, they dont't open the device they swap it for a replacement which 9 times out of 10 is a refurb! They dont give you a receipt as such, but when you enter the new imei online the new details come up. Hope that helps

They'll most likely swap over your phone, but they'll usually give you a proof of replacement which can be forwarded to your insurance company if required.
