MG. Dont apologise as we are all here to support each other. We will all have times that we retreat for whatever reason. Remember your changes have happened so rapidly so it was to be expected that you will have that dip at the beginning.

I like the idea of everybody starting with 15 minute chat per day to get it up and running. I have tried to get into the habit of nipping over the fence each evening and at least having a read of other posts. I think perhaps the logging on problems at the start may have put people off a little but it is much better to get in there now.

FW hope you have arrrived safely and that key note speech rocks.

I have really been struggling with this over the last two weeks - so much so that I can see that I have spent the last two week "sulking" about it all. Mourning what could have been my life instead of fully embracing the wonderful one to come.

I think this time has probably been a necessary one - change is difficult and scary, and I think everyone needs a time of what you describe as mourning for 'a life that might have been' or 'choices I didn't make'

The key I reckon, is to recognise the point at which you can cut yourself free from your safe, cherished ideas, and embrace the new whole heartedly - I wouldn't think you can make a real success of whatever future you have unless you can do that.

I'd love to join the Matrix.

Should Firewalker have finished her speech by now? Hope she did and it went beautifully! :T

MG, don't you apologise! Sulking indeed, I'm sure it's nothing of the sort. It takes time to adjust to things, especially when you'd already adjusted to a life off benefits, and then have to adjust again. Now, stop beating yourself with that stick, and do something useful with it, like making an arm for a snowman, or putting it on the fire :rotfl:

Looking forward to reading about your plans :j

Have a good one today everyone, hope the snow starts to melt a little, gorgeous sunny day here, going to get out and take some photos soon. Then I'll be finishing off a PhD chapter, and sending FOUR chapters to my supervisors :T :T

Thanks to all of you for your support, the positivity and knowing that other people are keeping going through their own challenges are keeping me going :j :j I must confess, after spending the whole of yesterday sitting at the computer, that I remembered what MG said on her course about working more effectively at 'beginnings and ends' - so today I'll be making an effort to include proper breaks (which I didn't do yesterday) in the hope of having more beginnings and ends, and being more effective :T (and getting a little time to play in the snow, of course :D)

    Good luck Firewalker!

And looking forward to seeing your new plans MG.

I'm so tired out today - just looking forward to getting through Friday and then relaxing at the weekend.

  • Just been trying to explain to some of the mentors what Pantomime is :rotfl::rotfl:

If you can spare 7 minutes - have a stroll down memory lane, Gerrard Kelly, Rikki Fulton, Stanley Baxter, Paul Savage (O'Grady), Jimmy Logan et al.

I watched and howled with laughter - then, well just howled. I miss that old life and I miss my old friends. Not forgotten, not a chance.

Also for those non-scots theres a lovely segment in the middle teaching you to "parliamo gleska" - LOL

Thank you MG. That was great - really enjoyed it

That made me realise how many of the last years I had spent doing exactly that :o

Then I wondered - MG which life were you referring to?
The old life in the theatre (and I can well understand why you missed that) or the next life travelling round running seminars and courses?

Seems to me that you have already started again successfully before and from what we have seen in your threads are more than capable of doing it again.

I know how you feel. Deepest sympathies :) We need a super zippy quick day!

Anyone have interesting plans for the weekend?

I am going to the 50th of a mum of a friend of mine this evening... for her burpday present she wanted carpet... Nice :)

Then tomorrow, I have to finish the cushions I am making for Christmas pressies as the rellys are all meeting up on Sunday. Deepest joy!

It will be the first time any of them have seen mum since she had the stroke, so that will be a bit of a shock I guess...

Come on 4pm.... we need you :D:rotfl::rotfl:

MG, its allowed, to feel like that, I mean. You don't need to give yourself permission. Normal, natural and totally acceptable.
The challenges you have been set, and the challenge you have set yourself is something that a lot of people (especially me) would find overwhelming.
Grieving is exactly the right word, for what was, fear of the unknown about what is to come, as well perhaps.
I think the whole Matrix has times were they skirt round issues and can't meet things head on because, afterall we're all only human.
We fear our inner weaknesses instead of drawing on our strengths.
The greatest fear is fear itself and i find myself thinking, perhaps MG has just met her Waterloo.
You can do this. Embrace and celebrate the changes I mean.
The Matrix has an amazing propensity to become a powerful force for all who belong, beause we are all in it together, working together for the things we want to achieve nd the people we want to become.
    Ooooooooooooer get me, waxing lyrical:rotfl:.
I'm sure hough that most of us can relate to what I mean.
If I've expressed it properly :o

positive vibes going to Firewalker a bitbelatedly
