I went to Tesco this afternoon and checked with Customer Services on the way in as to whether they would accept the Times £10 coupon. After a lot of discussion they decided they would. I then did my shopping and presented my coupon to the young male SA but he said it would not go through. I told him there was a button on his till for competitors coupons but all he kept trying to do was enter the barcode (which starts with 92) manually. In the end he told me to go back to Customer Services, which I did, and they eventually gave me £10 in cash.:j
I am still waiting for my £10 money card from head office which was promised after the last Waitrose Coupon just before Christmas!:mad:0 -

Rare occasion for the Times to carry vouchers I would have thought!, but there may be some 'posh' peeps who subscribe who may have liked to reply! Hopefully the M&S ones will work until the end of the month anyway so don't need the Waity's anyway  (Just based the Q on the NOTW one which was in the online version and posted by BW )
Never been called a "posh" person before!
We subscribe to the Times - get a discount and it also gives access to the online version. Did a search but no voucher appears to be online. In fact the search brought up an article about vouchers from May 2009!
The Times do very occasionally have vouchers but usually manufacturers promotions.0 -
Dr.Who-Who wrote: »Personally, I think I will be very sceptical, if I were the Tesco employee serving you, beit supervisor or duty manager when you show me your print out "letter".
Lets put it as if I am Tesco staff - I can say that you type all those contents & print it out yourselves and as we have so many customer service employees at Dundee you could have just make up the name to make it appear like it was from Dundee. I will have to refer to my Store Manager & it will be up to his/her decision to take your coupons or not. Don't be surprise if they decided not to accept your coupon(s).
I prefer them "Dundee" - sending me hard copy letter (which I have with me now) with their Tesco Logo and signature & the name of the Store Manager on the letter to say that they will accept the lists of conditional spend coupon(s).
With the hard copy letter - they have no choice but to accept whatever "wys" vouchers listed on their till from me. And if it cannot scan on the till (or the cashier not willing to punch the spend & save button ), I can still get my money from the Customer Service desk with no probs.
Don't think any of us here subscribe to Times online as you have to pay to read anything or find any voucher(s) online.
M4rtin this answer your ques:-
How do I benefit?
To claim your discount you will need to buy a copy of The Times this Saturday and cut out the enclosed £10 Waitrose voucher.

If you were a Tesco employee and spoke to me like that, accusing me of fraud, you would get sued. If they will not accept my coupon I shall get the name of the person in authority refusing and complain to Head Office. I can assure you I will not be made a fool of after taking the trouble to ensure I can legitimately use these coupons.0 -

I reckon some stores would probably give Mrs leahy grief even if she was shopping with her husband.
I think you should just try asking at CS first and get it sorted there rather than at the till, then if you get problems ,go to CS to get the cash, then back the SA and show them the money.....and maybe put your tongue out and skip out the store singing...ner,ner,ner,ner!!!0 -
I will go to CS first, I don't intend having an argument at the till.0

Pollyann, if you spent loadsa loadsa ££ @ T where the store refusing to take your coupon(s), you can send your receipt & the coupon(s) & draft a letter to Dundee (quoting your reference number on the hard copy letter - ref. on the top left hand side) requesting for refund & explain to them that the idiot(s) just make up their rules as they go along! You will get your refund from Dundee in the form of Money Card.
I cannot send any of my receipt to Dundee cos' my final payment is always low....:D say £6 after deducting £60 & I won't dare asking Dundee to give me the £5 refund :rotfl:my Customer service girls are very generous with me but then they know me by now:obobstheboy wrote: »If you were a Tesco employee and spoke to me like that, accusing me of fraud, you would get sued. Bob, we all have been there & done it. You can complain all you like and most of the time they can only apologise to you and they will have a "word" with the store manager so that it won't happen again! - Now this we also heard it before yet so many of you still get trouted!
As for accusing you of fraud - now that will be your words against this multi billion company. As for legit coupons there are 2 types :-
The 1st one is the one we use to buy the actual products. The 2nd one - Competitor's voucher - that is really up to the store manager - if he/she said no - you have no choice but to admit defeat cos' they don't have to accept it if they wish - its not compulsory - its only goodwill gesture. If you have been reading this threads for months you will know that - either your store is coupon store or a non-coupon store.RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0
