Well, i want to move my number to vodafone. Because i am going onto my first contract with vodafone, but orange said i have to wait 2-3 working days to get a PAC (Port authorisation code) to arrive in the post?

Its just a joke i requested one about a week back and it didnt come in the post :@ i dont see why they cant just give you one on the phone :@

OFCOM rules state a PAC must be issued within 48 hours. Orange have issued it.... in a letter. But as long as they printed the letter and got it in the post within 48 hours then thats ok.

Its been longer than 48 hours, i requested one about a week ago and it didnt arrive in the post. So i rang up late friday night and requested another one and they said another 2-3 working days in the post. (again). But they wont have dispatched it in 48 hours, because you have Saturday & Sunday (which are not working days).

I dont see why they cant give me one over the phone :@

Because they're not required to and never do-they hope that if you don't get one immediately then you may change your mind about leaving, or just 'forget'-a lot of people do.

i need orange sim to order SF,as its the only way to get 30 pound discount,and if you are not using orange sim then is it possible to send it to me plz....as you can get new number from voda fone and it might be better then the one you have...also if you had registered the orange sim then it not might work for me....P.S i do have orange payg sim but to be eligible for discount one must have orange sim for last 6 month and one must be using it........and i promise to destroy the sim after ordering the SF

I think you're going to have more luck asking for £30 towards the Orange SF than asking for their SIM card (and you'd need their personal info to get through security and use it). Think of the SIM card as the chip in your chip and pin credit card, with it you can easily run up £100s or £1000 of debt in that persons name, nobody in their right mind will send you their SIM card!

thanks for info,but as i mentioned that if the sim is not registered to the person,in that case there is no personal information stored on the sim/network,and if the sim is registered to person name then even i can't order the phone cuz they ask for information.......any way thanks again
